It was a hot day...

in the middle of September and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sweating. As anyone who lives in Cleveland knows, fall is either deathly hot or ridiculously cold and oftentimes both in a single day. Despite the heat, I was beyond excited for the day.

Alaina and Trey were getting married at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens with their closest family and friends as their witnesses. It was going to be an intimate affair and I had the honor of photographing their ceremony.

One Nashville Bachelorette Party Later.

While they lived in Chicago, Alaina was a Cleveland girl through and through. Trey, however, was from Nashville. And like all good love stories, theirs also began with someone else's wedding. Alaina went to Nashville with the girls on a bachelorette trip and crossed paths with Trey. The rest is history.

A private corner...

of the gardens was dedicated to their ceremony where they exchanged vows in front of their family and friends. For those few minutes, it was easy to forget that we were in the middle of a city and public garden. There were some tears, some laughs, and plenty of cheers.

Around the world.

From there, I had the pleasure of escorting Alaina and Trey around the world. Their ceremony was in the woodlands but we quickly moved east towards the Japanese garden. A short walk later, we found ourselves walking under Roman arches and cobblestone paths. And once the midday heat became too much, we went indoors and toured the island of Madagascar with its arid desert and thorns.

We said our farewells in the jungles of Costa Rica, but not before we shot some final portraits under a waterfall and through the leafy canopy. It was the perfect place to end our travels. A huge thanks to the staff at the Cleveland Botanical Garden as well - you did an incredible job of helping the day flow smoothly.
